Training & Talent Development

For those who are eligible, we can help pay for many different types of training, such as:

BASIC SKILLS TRAINING

Basic Skills Training includes adult basic education classes, parenting classes, English as a Second Language instruction, job readiness, and general computer literacy training. If you need to brush up on your basic skills, learn English, or prepare for a General Educational Development (GED) test, there are a number of programs in the community available. Our staff can help connect you with these services.

CAREER ADVANCEMENT TRAINING

Career Advancement Training consists of short-duration courses or seminars to help you gain additional skills and/or advance within your occupation. Examples of Career Advancement Training include Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) training, additional welding training, and Network+ training.

CAREER TRAINING

Career Training refers to classroom courses or programs that prepare you for a specific occupation. These include courses of study leading to degrees or certificates. Examples of in-demand career training includes Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A training.

WORK-BASED TRAINING

Work-Based Training provides for hands-on job training. Work experiences are an internship-like relationship that allows you to gain exposure to a job and directly learn skills. On-the-job training (OJT) provides you the opportunity to receive training and mentoring on-site as an employee of a company.

ENTREPRENEURIAL TRAINING

Entrepreneurial Training will provide valuable knowledge on how to start or boost your own small business operation.
